The protection of personal data is today at the heart of profound debates in society.
This essential facet of the protection of privacy is however the subject of specific regulations resulting from the Data Protection Act of January 6, 1978.
On April 27, 2016, new European regulations were introduced. This has profoundly changed our way of understanding data protection, in particular by requiring companies to establish real governance of the legal compliance of the processing of personal data.
The GDPR, which gave personal data the protection it needed, is regularly evolving to meet the new challenges brought by the increasing digitization of society.
For example, at the start of 2022, Google's services, which have not always been flawless in terms of data protection, and the decision rendered by the CNIL concerning Google Analytics confirmed this. Now, the tool must react, and, as announced in 2022, the service is evolving towards a new version in this year 2023.
